In addition to national schemes such as the EIA and SDE++ there are also more and more local grants available for entrepreneurs investing in renewable energy. Several provinces and municipalities offer financial support for, among other things solar carports, roof reinforcement or battery storage.

Province of Drenthe - Grant for solar carports
The province of Drenthe encourages companies and institutions to make car parks more sustainable. You can apply for a subsidy for the construction of a solar carport at car parks from 20 parking spaces. The grant also applies to the replacement or reinforcement of supporting structures.
- Up to a maximum of €50,000 grant
- Applies to new construction and existing sites
- Applications possible until 31 December 2025

Province of Utrecht - Renewable Electricity Investment Scheme
In the province of Utrecht, companies can take advantage of an investment scheme aimed at constructing solar carports or reinforcing roofs for solar installations. This scheme is of interest to those who want to get started with:

Circular batteries grant scheme (CPC)
Do you work on an innovative application of battery storage in combination with solar panels or carports? Then the national CPC scheme interesting. It supports collaborations between companies and knowledge institutions in the field of sustainable batteries.
- Grant for R&D in battery storage
- Suitable for projects with solar carports + battery
- Total budget: €95 million
Grant applications closed
The CPC scheme is currently closed to new applications. The application period ran until 16 April 2025. Ongoing applications will still be processed. Keep a close eye on the RVO.nl website for information on a possible new round of openings.

SCE - Cooperative power generation grant scheme
The SCE scheme is an alternative to the SDE++ and intended for energy cooperatives and collective installations, e.g. in business parks or with owners' associations. Consider a shared solar carport or rooftop solar installation.

- Suitable for shared projects in one location

Province of North Holland - Smart Solutions Net Congestion (SON)
The province of North Holland is offering grants to companies wishing to invest in smart energy control and monitoring systems To address grid congestion. Consider systems that help spread consumption and make better use of own generation.
- Maximum €15,000 grant per company
- For large consumer connections (e.g. companies, supermarkets, hospitals)
- Duration: 11 February to 1 October 2025
- Total budget: € 500.000

Province of South Holland - Zonnig Zuid-Holland grant
With the Zonnig Zuid-Holland scheme, the province encourages the installation of solar panels on roofs, car parks and water basins. Roof reinforcement, asbestos removal and making sites available to energy cooperatives are also eligible.
Possible activities and fees:
- Strengthening roof structure + PV installation: €80 per kWp (max. €100,000)
- Solar on car park: €150 per kWp (max. €100,000)
- Solar on water basin: €130 per kWp (max. €100,000)
- Making roof available to cooperative: €5,000 per grid connection
