By 2024, Shift to Solar realised a stylish and sustainable solar veranda in a backyard in Babberich. The wooden veranda not only provides a comfortable outdoor space, but also actively contributes to solar energy generation.

Smart design with integrated solar panels

The roof of the veranda is composed of 15 solar panels, expertly installed in PEXT profiles. As a result, the panels are tightly integrated into the roof and the structure is completely watertight. A clever gutter drains the rainwater into a rain barrel, which also incorporates sustainability in terms of water management.

Smart energy generation in your own garden

With an expected annual output of 5,550 kWh, the solar veranda delivers not only comfort but also efficiency. That means annual CO₂ savings of about 2.22 tonnes - comparable to the effect of 170 trees or avoiding some 13,000 kilometres of driving a petrol car.
