For football club Samen Combinerend Omhoog 1963 in Spijkenisse, Shift to Solar realised a steel solar carport with an overhanging design. The carport provides space for nine parking spaces and combines covered parking with sustainable energy generation.
Sixty-three full black glass-glass solar panels have been installed on the structure, accounting for a significant part of the on-site energy supply. Two charging points have also been installed under the carport, allowing visitors to recharge their electric vehicles during their stay at the sports park.
With this combination of solar power, charging infrastructure and efficient use of space, the association is taking a nice step towards a more sustainable future.
