A durable canopy for a modern car wash

At Autoservice Maat in Emmer-Compascuum, Shift to Solar realised a unique solar carport above an existing car wash. Due to the specific function of the location, the construction had to provide sufficient space for vehicles using the car wash. The result is an impressive custom-made construction measuring almost 5 metres high, 15 metres wide and 10 metres deep.

The steel carport not only provides weather protection, but also puts the available surface to optimum use for sustainable energy generation. With 78 high-quality glass-glass solar panels, it makes a significant contribution to the company's energy supply.

Thanks to the combination of customisation, functionality and renewable energy, this project is a great example of how a business location can be smartly used for energy transition.
